What is a Non Domestic EPC?

A Commercial EPC can be basically described as a chart on a 150 point scale and indicates the energy rating / efficiency of a property. The rating is expressed in the form of bands which range from A to G, with 'A' being the most energy efficient and 'G' the least efficient.

What determines the Commercial Energy Rating achieved?

There are a number of factors looked at in order to determine the Commercial Energy Rating of a building.

These include:

  • The heating systems installed within the building
  • The type and levels of insulation installed
  • The age and construction type
  • The ventilation system that is in place
  • Lighting within the building, (e.g. energy efficient bulbs) used
